Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay‘s critically acclaimed work, Anuradha, was introduced by Aakash Aath as the latest installment in the Sahityer Shera Somoy series.

Anuradha tells the story of an unmarried, privileged family woman who faces many obstacles but never gives up. Rather than giving in to her situation, she takes it on head-on. Anuradha’s son intends to evict her when Vijay, the new landlord, receives the estate of her family. Vijay intends to marry Anita, a learned woman from the city, but he finds himself falling in love with Anuradha because of her devotion to his only son, Kumar. The narrative examines the nuances of familial bonds, devotion, and love.

In Anuradha, Pritha Chanda essays the title role. Actors, Aditya Bakshi plays Vijay, Safalya Debnath plays Kumar, Falguni Chatterjee as Amar Chatterjee, Jeena Tarafdar as Anita, Plaban Basu as Gagan, Prabha as Tanusree Bhattacharya and Sayantan Halder as Ajay will be seen in the serial.

“I had wanted to play something like this for a long time, therefore I am incredibly appreciative of obtaining this role. My personality is not like Vijay’s in terms of traits and hues. I watched the videos on YouTube to get ready for this role. I have also listened to Anuradha’s audio clip. I concentrate on the general body language, facial emotions, and the delivery of dialogue that appeals to the audience” said actor Aditya Bakshi.

“Being Anuradha’s actor is a privilege for me. The narrative will bring to life on screen a complex portrait of 1980s society and the resilience of women. Each day presents a fresh opportunity for learning for each of us. The entire Anuradha team is optimistic about the outcome” said actress Pritha Chanda.

The newly introduced series Anuradha is directed by Suman Roy.

Anuradha is airing from 19^th February,  Monday to Saturday, at 7:30 pm on AakashAath.
