Cuvis Active Robotic Knee Surgery was introduced for the first time at Belle Vue Clinic. Pradeep Tondon, CEO, Belle Vue Clinic, and Dr. Santosh Kumar along with the doctors from the robotic joint replacement team graced the occasion.

Dr. Santosh Kumar pioneered the Orthopilot Navigation System in 2013 for knee replacement. The Cuvis Joint Robotic System is among the most advanced surgical cutting-edge robotic technology that supports surgeons with personalized planning and apt cutting for consistent results.

The robotic joint replacement team consists of Dr. Devasis Sarangi, Dr. Vivek David, Dr. Deep Chakraborty, and Dr. Vivekananda Kumar.

Cuvis Active Robotic Knee Surgery does all the surgery steps automatically. The surgeon controls the robot with a hand-held remote. The active automatic robotic arm helps in pre-planning, simulation, size and orientation, and pre-operative determination, and then the Cuvis does the bone preparation.

With the help of this latest and updated knee surgery, a patient can recover quickly and have a minimally invasive operation with smooth bone cuts and less blood loss and pain.

If there is any hiccup during the operation process, the machine will immediately stop. It will again restart and then continue on with the operation. It provides real-time monitoring and feedback mechanisms.

The operation for one leg costs about Rs 1, 75, 000.
