Experimental Play Nazia To Be Staged On 15th & 29th July
The poster, music, and trailer launch of the play Nazia took place in the presence of the cast and crew recently.
The story of this play revolves around the daily lives of the sex workers. It is an experimental play.
Nazia is a girl with a big heart. She was duped by her lover and hence became engaged in the trade of sex workers. However, this play is not only about Nazia. It showcases the lives of sex workers in today’s times.
To suit the experimental nature of the play, the director paid much attention to the music, choreography, light, and costumes of the play.
The cast of the play consists of Firdausi, Dishani, Rajlakkhi, Alipriya, Ankita, Srotoswini, Soutri, Papiya, Srija, Mousumi, Priya, Mita, Moumita, Sumit, Baban, Indranil, Dibyendu, Subir & Arpan.
The music has been composed by Pranjal Das. Anny Ahmed and Sebanti Das have lent their voices to the songs.
The choreography has been done by Hirak Saha.
The story has been written by Sumit Bhattacharjee.
The direction and production design are by Bappa. “With all my works be it films or plays, I have always tried to show the dark side of society. With this play, I will again try to show this side of our society”.
This play will be staged on the 15th and 29th of July at Girish Mancha and Minerva Theatre.
