Hustle 5 -Apna Homeground To Focus On Excellent Spirit Of Hip-Hop
For Indian hip-hop, Hustle has been that homeground where untapped talent meets mentorship, culture finds its voice, and each artist has the opportunity to turn their hustle into a movement. This year’s Hustle 5-Apna Homeground honors the spirit itself by uniting communities, artists, and mentors who are still influencing Desi hip-hop’s future.
OG Squad Boss EPR celebrated the city he proudly refers to as his Homeground by interacting with students, fans, and the media throughout Kolkata prior to the premiere of Hustle 5-ApnaHomeground.
Leading this thrilling new chapter is Badshah, who is back as Rap Supremo to mentor India’s upcoming rap talent. Alongside him on the mentoring panel are OG Squad Boss EPR, who has played a crucial role in Hustle’s development, MC Square, Paradox, and Agsy, who make a full circle return as Squad Bosses after first establishing themselves as competitors on the Hustle stage.
EPR visited The Bhawanipur Education Society College as part of the city engagement, where he spoke with students and judged a rap competition with up-and-coming artists. He also visited the famed Indian Coffee House and Dasgupta & Co., an iconic heritage bookstore, while exploring its timeless literary charm at the famous College Street, honoring the city’s rich cultural legacy.EPR discussed the upcoming season and offered his opinions on the constantly changing Indian hip-hop movement during a media interaction at Conversation Room, which marked the end of the visit. The visit honored the city that has been crucial to EPR’s creative development.
“Kolkata has always been my homeground. Every street in this city holds memories that continue to influence my music, and it has influenced the way I think, write, and express myself. This experience was made even more memorable by interacting with students, spending time at College Street, and establishing connections with the media. I hope that this season inspires all aspiring artists to embrace their origins and have faith in the strength of their own narrative,” said EPR.
The season, which debuts on August 8th, airs on JioHotstar and MTV India every Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m.
