Manipal Hospitals and FUJIFILM India have a contract in place to use the latter’s cutting-edge digital technology for preserving private medical records and photos. According to the long-term arrangement, FUJIFILM India will supply Manipal Hospitals with a sizable Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Sensitive documents, films, and reports don’t need to be manually stored, retrieved, or sent thanks to the PACS.

Additionally, the next-generation system will make it possible to store sensitive medical data on secure off-site servers and make it accessible from anywhere in the globe via mobile devices and workstations thanks to PACS software. Under the Manipal Health Enterprises umbrella, the deployment will span 45 Teleradiology facilities and 23 hospitals across the nation.

The cutting-edge Radiology Information System (RIS) PACS, which has been developed as part of the engagement, is now accessible for radiology and cardiology specialties. It has a modular design and can be expanded to all future locations of Manipal Hospitals. It can be expanded to encompass other therapeutic disciplines and currently covers three million investigations annually.

Patients would benefit from the RIS PACS in the following ways:

  • Compliance through quick access to medical pictures from any Manipal Hospital in India
  • Digital access to reports as and when required
  • Diagnosis from the patient’s preferred radiologist and cardiologist sitting anywhere in the nation

With this initiative, doctors will get quick access to medical pictures easily.
