In his upcoming film Abhinetri, director Durjoy Mondal has paired Om Sahani and Moupiya Goswami for the first time in Bengali cinema. Following its announcement and the release of its first glimpse, the film has already sparked curiosity due to its intriguing premise, emotional depth, and element of mystery. Director Durjoy Mondal makes it apparent that the film goes beyond a traditional romantic narrative, despite the title Abhinetri suggesting a story centered around the entertainment industry. While retaining a sense of mystery, the movie examines love, dreams, ambition, relationships, career challenges, and the unanticipated realities of life.

The protagonists of the tale are Kabya Roy (Om Sahani) and Padmaja (Moupiya Goswami). Kabya is a budding screenwriter and writer who is having trouble making a name for himself in the movie business. When he meets Padmaja, a gifted and aspirational model and actress determined to forge her own identity in the entertainment industry, his life takes an unexpected turn. The two set out on a journey full of goals, aspirations, obstacles in their careers, and emotional turmoil as their lives become entwined. As they deal with the difficulties and realities of life, their relationship progressively transcends the simplicity of romance.

Om Sahani said, “Kabya is a budding writer who visits the offices of various directors and producers and writes screenplays and stories. He is going through a difficult time right now. He meets Padmaja during this stage, and their adventure starts. The narrative examines the challenges, highs, and lows they encounter, as well as whether they can carry on traveling together. Important aspects of the movie include their relationship and the different reality checks they face in life”.

Director Durjoy Mondal claims that the movie was purposefully made to keep viewers guessing. Regarding the chemistry between the lead pair, the director is equally optimistic.
