Who has not heard about RJ Praveen? The man is a well-known Radio Jockey working with Red FM. His great sense of humor and comic timing have helped him amass a great fan following.

While many might know him as Rj Praveen, his original name is Praveen Sethia. After completing his graduation from the University of Calcutta, RJ Praveen began his career as a Customer care associate with Shopper’s Stop Pvt Ltd. Then he worked as a call centre executive with Accenture Technology Pvt Limited. It is in January 2006 that he joined Red FM as a Radio Jockey and it has been a memorable journey till now both for Praveen as well as for his listeners.

The popular radio jockey saw the mimicry of other performers and realized that this was something even he could do. So he dropped his resume with the RED FM office. He was called for the auditions and he passed it. He worked as an intern for two months and then he was given a permanent position at the radio station.

It was during his college days that he found the radio jockey profession as glamorous. He was not pursuing any other courses and according to RJ Praveen, getting into the profession was seriously a stroke of luck.

According to RJ Praveen, the job of a radio jockey is not only about talking more. It is more about talking creatively on topics that a 5-year-old and also an old man can connect with. Hence, it is more than just simply talking.

The radio jockey turned author with ‘Ek Kahani Aisi Bhi’. This was a collection of thrilling ghost stories narrated as a part of 93.5 RED FM’s show with the same name. The stories were written down by RJ Praveen and RJ Devankan for the show. The response that the show got inspired Rj Praveen to write them down in the form of a book.

RJ Praveen celebrated his birthday on 27^th September. The man who tickles your funny bones with his words will surely tug your heartstrings with the humanely act that he did on his birthday. The RJ dedicated his birthday this time to the artisans of Kumartuli. Due to the ongoing global pandemic, the artisans were having a hard time and they were living from hand to mouth. The artisans were not getting enough orders for making idols. And even if they got the orders, many got canceled due to the pandemic. RJ Praveen asked his fans to help these artisans on his birthday.

With this noble initiative on his birthday, RJ Praveen showed his humane side to his fans and also set a great example of how to help society in your own way.
