Spain As Focal Theme Country Of 46th International Kolkata Book Fair 2023
The Geneva-based International Publishers Association will officially launch the International Kolkata Book Fair on January 30, 2023, and it will run through February 12 of that year.
The fair will be inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of West Bengal, Smt. Mamata Banerjee and other dignitaries.
This was announced at a press meet that was graced by H.E. Mr. José María Ridao Domínguez, Ambassador of Spain, Tridib Kr Chatterjee, Sudhangshu Sekhar Dey, and other eminent guests.
The guests revealed the logo of Boimela Prangan which has been designed by noted artist Suvaprasanna.
The International Kolkata Book Fair finally received its own address after 45 long years when Hon. Chief Minister declared the “Boimela Prangan” from the main dais during the IKBF 2022 opening ceremony.
Spain is the Focal Theme Country of the 46th International Kolkata Book Fair 2023. This will be their second appearance in the International Kolkata Book Fair as the theme country after 2006.
The international complex will also participate from the UK, USA, Japan, Vietnam, France, Thailand, Australia, Argentina, Guatemala, Mexico, Cuba, Peru, other Latin American countries, and Bangladesh.
Publishers from the States of India like Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Odisha along with the Little Magazines will also be part of this book fair.
The 9th Kolkata Literature Festival (KLF) will be held from 9 to 11 February 2023. There will be many engrossing sessions, and panel discussions on literature, film, drama, music, dance, and more.
Similar to the previous edition, the IKBF will have a significant online presence this year via the Book Fair’s website and social media accounts. Sister Nivedita University is the exclusive digital partner.
With the logo unveiling of the Boimela Prangan, the preparations for the 46th International Kolkata Book Fair 2023 is in full swing.
