Can the gap between dreams and reality be bridged when relentless adversity strikes, or should one hold firm and turn those aspirations into truth? The upcoming Bengali film Te Amo Messi explores this eternal debate through an inspiring, emotionally charged narrative.

A press conference was organized to unveil the teaser and poster of the film.

Directed by Suman Maitra and produced by Joydeep Chakraborty and Chaitali Chakraborty under the banner of Sabitri Production, the story centers around Manik, a ten-year-old boy living in poverty. Football is not merely a sport for Manik; it is his core identity. His ultimate dream is to one day meet his idol, Lionel Messi. However, fate presents a severe challenge as Manik faces physical disability. Supported by his mother and a dedicated doctor, Manik finds the courage to remain steadfast in his goal. The film captures the raw spirit of survival, childhood ambition, and determination against all odds.

The cast of the film consists of Imtiaz Ali, Joydeep Chakraborty, Riya Ganguly, Mehuli Sarkar, Anindita Banerjee, Debashis Ganguly, and Alok Sanyal.

Inspired by true events, the film serves as a global tribute to football legends past and present. Director Suman Maitra emphasizes that football is much more than a game—it is a space where impossible dreams materialize.

“Through this film, I pay homage to all the legendary footballers who have entertained us with their extraordinary skill. Te Amo Messi tells the story of a young boy who breathes a single name in his heart. The message for all Messi fans and dreamers is clear: never stop fighting to make your dreams a reality,” said the director.

Hailing from a sports family, the director always wanted to make a film on sports. He did not want to make the conventional sports films that are made in India. He wanted to present a different story, and the film is just that.

Featuring music composed by Chandrima Chakraborty, Te Amo Messi promises to deliver a deeply touching message about resilience, passion, and the power of believing in one’s journey despite life’s harsher realities.
