Sunetra-Sundaram

“Sunetra Sundaram,” a film by debutant director Shib Ram Sharma, tells the story of a woman with a kidney condition who cannot control her urge to urinate. Even after so many years of independence, it is a source of great concern in our country and society that we do not have the basic infrastructure in place, such as a toilet in places where it is required. Either it is not there or it is not in a usable state.

Sunetra, played by Parno Mitra, notices this, suffers from it, and decides to speak out with others who support her.

Sunetra’s love interest is played by Somraj Maity. For the first time, Somraj and Parno will be paired together.

Ratna, a lawyer who helps Sunetra fight for the cause, is played by Rupanjana Mitra, Roshni is played by Khanom Nadia, and Poroma is played by Farzana Chumki.

This film is more than a concept; it is an experience that the director Shib Ram’s family has gone through. “Once on a family visit to Dharmatala, my wife encountered unexplainable difficulty in finding a usable and hygienic toilet, and had to go to an office and pee,” he said. He also claims that the need for a toilet is fundamental, comparable to the need for oxygen.

The story of the film is by Arpita Roy Chowdhury while the production designer is Souvik Pal.

Produced by BD Box Production, the film is presented by Sibpar Entertainment.

Sunetra Sundaram will be shot at various parts of Chandannagar, Kolkata, and the suburbs of the city.

The shooting of the film began on 23rd March.
