The premiere of the upcoming Bengali film Mahishasur Marddini took place in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.

Mahishasur Marddini is a letter of apology to women for the wrongs done through the ages that continue even to this day. The film is set in one location and tells the story of a single night.

The film has been shown at different film festivals like the 13th Bengaluru International Film Festival in the ‘Asian Cinema Competition’ section, the 22nd edition of the prestigious New York Indian Film Festival, 2022, and others.

Mahishasur Marddini has been written and directed by Ranjan Ghosh.

The cast of the film includes Rituparna Sengupta, Saswata Chatterjee, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Sritama Dey, Aryuun Ghosh, Arunima Halder, Abhyuday Dey, Koushik Kar, Shaheb Bhattacherjee, and Poulomi Das.

Speaking at the premiere, Rituparna Sengupta said “This is my third film with Ranjan Ghosh. The film showcases the wrongs done against women in society. It has received much love and adulation when screened at different film festivals. I hope that the film receives the same amount of love in Kolkata as well”.

Saswata Chatterjee said, “The shoot of the film was done during the pandemic. The film’s release was delayed due to the pandemic. Now it has finally been released. The audience must come to the hall and support our film”.

The music of the film has been composed by Avijit Kundu.

The film is presented by AVA Film Productions Pvt. Ltd. & Pawan Kanodia.

The film is running at single screens and multiplexes in the city.
