BITS Pilani, one of the first colleges to get the designation “Institution of Eminence” from the Indian government, established a partnership with the BITS Law School in Greater Mumbai. A flexible and interdisciplinary curriculum, an emphasis on empathy and creativity in learning, a focus on legal writing and scholarly research, strong digital underpinning across the programs, and access through generous scholarships are just a few of the ways that the NewAge BITS Law School has reimagined all facets of legal education.

The B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A. LL.B., two incredibly well-liked five-year integrated degree programs, will be offered by BITS Law School (Hons.). The first academic year will start on August 1, 2023, and admissions will open in March of that year.

BITS Law School will seek intellectual guidance from luminaries of the legal fraternity, higher education, business, and policymaking.

Some of the esteemed members of the Advisory Council include Hon. Mr. Justice U.U. Lalit(eminent jurist and former Chief Justice of India), Hon. Mr. Justice B.N. Srikrishna (eminent jurist and a retired judge of the Supreme Court of India), Ms. Pallavi Shroff (Managing Partner, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.), and Mr. Haigreve Khaitan (Managing Partner, Khaitan & Co.). Professor (Dr.) Ashish Bharadwaj joins as the founding Dean of the BITS Law School.

The 1,70,000+ BITS Pilani Alumni Network, which spans 55 countries and is one of the most prestigious and powerful networks of business founders, thought leaders, and industry leaders, will also be accessible to and useful to law students. A specialized office will make it easier for students to get ready for, be exposed to, and have access to, top law firms, corporations, banks, NGOs, and research institutions.

Architect Hafeez Contractor is creating a cutting-edge, entirely residential campus for BITS Law School on 63 acres in the Mumbai Metropolitan Area. BITS Law School has begun operations and will start its first academic year in August 2023 out of a state-of-the-art interim campus at the Hiranandani Gardens in Powai, Mumbai. The permanent and zero-carbon footprint campus will be operational in 2024.

Generous scholarships will be offered for meritorious students to enable access to and preserve diversity. Among the specializations offered are Technology & Media Law, Entertainment & Sports Law, Corporate & Financial Law, and Alternate Dispute Resolution & Mediation.
