Session On Renewable Energy Transition For Commercial & Industrial Consumers
The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), jointly with AmpIn Energy Transition, organized an interactive session on Renewable Energy Transition for Commercial and Industrial Consumers.
The objective was to highlight the technologies and renewable energy options that Indian industrial customers may utilize to help them on their path to decarbonization and net-zero energy.
Mr. Pinaki Bhattacharyya, Senior Member of FICCI Renewable Energy CEOs Council and Managing Director & CEO of AmpIn Energy Transition, said, “The eastern region has a promising opportunity for enterprises to save 20–30% on energy costs by implementing renewable energy. Industries must move quickly to embrace renewable energy due to its falling costs. Providers of renewable energy had to take a long-term approach, acknowledging the interest of the equity market and the availability of funds from foreign investors. A successful transformation requires cooperation between the financial sector, industry, solution providers, and state and central governments”.
The first-panel discussion was on “Implementation of Green Open Access in the Eastern States”. The second panel discussion is on the policy environment of states to support RE transition in the Eastern Region, enabling policy framework, state infrastructure, investment potential, and support provided by state governments to support renewable energy development in the states. The third-panel discussion acknowledged the key building blocks needed for decarbonizing the electricity sector and developing a roadmap for a 100% renewable energy transition.
The final discussion highlighted the significance of the Strategic Initiatives in the Eastern Region- Green Hydrogen, Manufacturing, Energy Storage, and Floating Solar.
With renewable energy gaining more importance, this interactive session surely highlighted what was the need of the hour, and what needed to be done for furthering the growth and development of green energy.
