Savor Authentic Dishes Of Colonial Times At Rajbarir Ranna

The Bengal Colonial Fest “Rajbarir Ranna” at Pride Plaza Hotel Kolkata is a culinary experience that pays a glowing tribute to the culinary landscape of Bengal during the colonial times. The food feast explores the evolution of Bengal cuisine shaped by the different colonial influences of the British, Dutch, French, and Portuguese.

The dishes have been curated by Chef Tagar.

The main objectives of the food feast are:
- It will show the fusion cuisine that developed from Bengal’s colonial past.
- This feast will help to revive the forgotten or lesser-known Anglo-Bengali dishes and cooking procedures.
- To offer a great experience that will combine food, history, and heritage aesthetics.

The dishes offered under Rajbarir Ranna include Panchforon prawn skewers, Mangshor ghugni, Gandhoraj fish kabiraji, Railway cutlets, Deviled eggs with tamarind chutney, Dhone patar bora, Mochar spring rolls, Narkel diye peyaji, Steamer mutton curry, Kumro pata chingri chhara paturi, Country captain chicken, Macher paturi, Posto diye jhinge, Chhana’r dalna, Thor er ghonto, Radhuni diye tok daal, Kolai dal, Rasakadamba, Raj bhog and Misti doi.

The dishes will be available as à la carte options.
It will be available as lunch and dinner options.

The price for two is Rs 2500 to Rs 3000.

Chef Tagar added that the dishes that will receive good feedback will be incorporated into the main menu.

Rajbarir Ranna will be available from 20th May to 31st May, 2025.
