The Child in Need Institute (CINI), in association with Kolkata Press Club, organised a workshop on “Media Sensitisation on Child Safeguarding”. The workshop, held at the Kolkata Press Club, aimed to engage media professionals in promoting ethical reporting, creating awareness, and strengthening collective responsibility towards child protection. The initiative highlighted the critical role of the press in ensuring that children’s rights are safeguarded across all spheres of society.

Dr. Snehasish Sur, President, Press Club, Dr. Indrani Bhattacharyya, CEO, CINI, Dr, Nilanajana Dagupta, IAS (Retd) and CINI Governing Body Member, Sri Kingshik Pramanik, Secretary, Kolkata Press Club, graced the event.

Several digital content creators, social media influencers, and mainstream media journalists joined the workshop.

Dr. Samir Narayan Chaudhuri, Founder Director of CINI, said, “For more than five decades, CINI has been working to protect children and empower families living in vulnerability. Our collaboration with the media is crucial in amplifying voices that often go unheard. This workshop reaffirms our commitment to child safeguarding and inspires collective action for a safer tomorrow. The workshop concluded with interactive discussions, reiterating that safeguarding children is not just an institutional priority but a shared responsibility of society”.

CINI launched a special publication titled ‘Akash Chhoan Matir Golper Sangkolon’, published by Virasat Art Publication. The book is a compilation of motivational tales from CINI’s half-century of empowering communities, families, and children. Every narrative highlights the tenacity of marginalized communities and demonstrates the life-changing potential of regular interventions in child protection, education, nutrition, and health. The book acts as a source of motivation for upcoming generations in addition to chronicling the amazing tales of some everyday people.

A great session indeed for the attendants.
