Salt Lake Shiksha Niketan, one of Kolkata’s most cherished educational institutions, celebrated its 22nd Foundation Day, SAPTAK 2026, a grand cultural extravaganza held at the Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium with special performances and distinguished guests, marking a significant milestone.

Salt Lake Shiksha Niketan’s unwavering commitment to holistic education, which combines academic excellence with character development and vital life skills, was demonstrated by the 22nd Foundation Day celebration. The organization is still committed to fostering self-assured, future-ready global citizens.

The event was graced by Shri Radhe Shyam Goenka, Director, Emami Group, Shri Om Jalan, Chairman & MD, Bengal Energy, Shri Rishab Kothari, Ex-President of Hindustan Club and Ex-President of MCCI, Shri Lalit Beriwala, Chairman, Shri Sanjay Agarwal, Secretary, Shri Radhey Shyam Gupta, Treasurer, Ms. Madhusmita Bezbaruah, Principal, Shri Bhanwar Lal Jajodia, President, Shri Devraj Rawalwasia, Shri Gouri Shankar Khajanchi, Vice President, Shri Jagdish Prasad Agarwal, Secretary, Shri Harish Agarwal, Treasurer, and many others.

This year’s theme, Saptak, was given special attention. It was inspired by the mystique of the number seven and combined the seven swaras, colors, world wonders, continents, and constellations into a smooth, radiant celebration. With fast-paced dance performances, soulful music, and engrossing student skits, the evening took place as a voyage from Earth to the cosmos, fusing tradition and the cosmos. The theme was vividly expressed in each act, which was performed with enthusiasm, energy, and inventiveness.

The celebration was a heartfelt homage to the vision of the late Shri Shyam Sunder Beriwala, the school’s founder chairman, whose goal of fostering young minds via education and culture continues to inspire the institution’s accomplishments. The spirit of the evening continued to revolve around his legacy.

The principal also emphasized the school’s dedication to holistic development through Life Skills sessions led by Nitai Maharaj of ISKCON, SUPER 10 for Classes X and XII, and special support classes. In order to improve academic performance, the school also plans summer classes and bridge courses and has implemented AI-enabled smart classrooms through Extramarks.

The well-known musical duo Sourendro and Soumyojit enthralled the audience with their soul-stirring performance as the cultural program came to a close. Their performance was genuinely captivating and the ideal way to cap off an evening that covered continents, constellations, and centuries of musical heritage.
