At its Kalyani campus, JIS College of Engineering successfully held its yearly technical festival, JISTech2K26. The two-day event aimed to promote creative technological solutions to industrial and socio-environmental problems. 33 educational institutions enthusiastically participated, and 283 projects competed in a variety of categories.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries, like Dr. S. M. Ali, Executive Secretary of ISTE, New Delhi, Prof. Neeraj Saxena, Pro-Chancellor of JIS University, Prof. Debashis De of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, JIS Group, and Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group.

Students were inspired to innovate and make significant contributions to technological advancement by their motivational speeches.

With a wide range of technical and non-technical events, JISTech2K26 created a competitive and interesting atmosphere for attendees. Game O’ Fun, Code-Fluenza (a coding competition), App-e-Teaser, Science Quiz, Robotics, B-Plan and Start-up Proposals, and Dig-CAD were among the main highlights. These activities allowed students to showcase their programming, creativity, design, and problem-solving abilities while catering to a wide range of interests.

AI-enabled smart systems, disaster management, cutting-edge healthcare technologies, robotics and IoT-driven automation, sustainable and green engineering, and management in the technology-driven era were among the projects that participants displayed. These themes emphasized the importance of using contemporary technology and interdisciplinary approaches to solve real-world problems.

More than 20 professionals from the industry assessed the projects, guaranteeing a fair evaluation and alignment with real-world applications. Participants were able to improve their innovations for future development and gain a better understanding of industry expectations thanks to their insightful comments.

A prize pool of up to Rs 2.5 lakhs, strong industry-academia interaction, and excellent interdisciplinary projects showcasing the participants’ technical proficiency and inventiveness were also features of the festival. All things considered, JISTech2K26 proved to be a huge success, encouraging creativity and teamwork while giving students a vibrant stage on which to display their skills and create significant technological solutions.

Once again, JISTech2K26 has demonstrated the incredible potential of young minds when given the proper support and platform. The caliber of concepts and the emphasis on using technology to solve practical problems are incredibly motivating.
