An Amazing Event To Carry Forward Suchitra Mitra’s Legacy

Mandira Mukhopadhyay, one of the most devoted followers of the renowned Rabindra Sangeet vocalist Suchitra Mitra, has been upholding her guru’s gharana and legacy throughout. Mandira, a seasoned vocalist, music educator, and founder-director of the esteemed Purabi and Suchitra Mitra Memorial Trust, celebrated her birth anniversary. Bengal Web Solution held an evening of Tagore music at ICCR to commemorate the event.
The event was graced by Subodh Sarkar, Satinath Mukhopadhyay, Dr Minakshi Sinha, Rabin Mukhopadhyay, and Madhubani Chattopadhyay.
Legends like Santideb Ghosh and Hemanta Mukhopadhyay were enthralled with Mandira’s melody. In addition to training under Suchitra Mitra for thirty arduous years, she had the unique chance to study and study Tagore’s writings under her guidance. Mandira shared the stage with legendary performers such as Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Yamini Krishnamurthy, Mallika Sarabhai, Mrinalini Sarabhai, and Sanjukta Panigrahi during her lengthy and beloved career. As a result, she has been using magic for many years. This also applied to the evening at ICCR.
Ajibijonghore, Kolkahol, Baron Holo, and Durekothay were just a few of the Mandira solo performances that dominated the event. Arnabneil Mukherjee, her son, performed alongside a chorus of Purabi and Sur Chhando students.
