The Sri Sri Jagannath Cultural Center in Digha celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with fervor and devotion, uniting ISKCON monks, devotees, temple staff, and volunteers in a shared celebration of India’s enduring spiritual legacy.

Under the direction of the Project Management Unit (PMU) of the Sri Sri Jagannath Cultural Center in cooperation with the devotee-sevaks of Sri Sri Jagannath Mandir, Digha, the program ran from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. To promote physical vitality, mental clarity, emotional balance, and spiritual well-being, participants engaged in a variety of yoga poses, breathing exercises, and meditation practices.

The celebration acted as a reminder that yoga, as practiced in the Vedic tradition, is much more than a fitness regimen. It is a sacred science of self-transformation that leads a person toward greater consciousness and inner fulfillment while balancing the body, mind, and soul. Through the age-old practice of yoga, which continues to inspire millions of people worldwide, India has made a remarkable contribution to global wellness, which was also highlighted at the event.

Radharamn Das, Chief Priest of Sri Sri Jagannath Mandir, Digha, and Trustee of the Sri Sri Jagannath Cultural Center, said, “International Yoga Day has grown to be a significant worldwide movement honoring harmony, well-being, and increased awareness. We extend our sincere gratitude to Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for his inspiring leadership in bringing yoga to a global audience and encouraging people to embrace one of India’s greatest contributions to civilization. Through his efforts, the ageless wisdom of the Vedic tradition has spread to millions of people worldwide, fostering spiritual awareness, peace, and well-being”.

Let’s embrace yoga as a means of achieving inner peace, self-realization, compassion, character, and universal brotherhood as we commemorate International Yoga Day. Yoga becomes a bridge that unites humanity with its divine source when it is practiced in its true spirit.
