Chasing Dreams Films and Bell Jar Films held a Special Bird Release Ceremony at Polo Floatel in Kolkata as Pinjar gets ready for its theatrical release on July 10, 2026. The ceremony celebrated the film’s main themes of freedom, hope, and self-discovery.

Pinjar, produced by Animesh Ganguly and directed by Dr. Rudrajit Roy, is an emotionally stirring cinematic journey that examines the invisible cages that often confine people’s lives: fear, loneliness, grief, social expectations, and self-doubt. The film’s central theme—the bravery to break free and embrace life with renewed hope—was symbolically reflected in the release of birds.

Director Dr. Rudrajit Roy said, “Pinjar explores the invisible cages that shape our lives: fear, loneliness, grief, and social expectations. The main themes of the movie—freedom, hope, and self-discovery—are reflected in this ceremony”.

“Pinjar is a story of resilience and breaking barriers. We wanted to honor the spirit of freedom and spread that message outside of the screen with this symbolic endeavour,” said producer Animesh Ganguly.

Sudhamta Foundation India, led by Founder Arumita Mitra, partnered with Pinjar as its Charity Partner.

Two impoverished girl children took part in the symbolic bird release in a heartwarming gesture that struck a deep chord with the film’s message. This reinforced the idea that everyone should have access to freedom, hope, and opportunity regardless of social or economic barriers.

The ceremony was more than just a promotional event; it was a reminder that true freedom is the liberation of the human spirit and transcends material boundaries. The film’s message of resiliency, compassion, and the enduring power of hope was carried by the birds as they soared into the sky over the Hooghly.
