The life of actor and choreographer Sandy, who was born and raised in Durgapur, is a tale of inspiration and tenacity. While his parents remained in Durgapur and his older sister was already married, he moved to Kolkata in search of employment after living there for almost eighteen years. But his early years in the city were not at all simple. He even had to remain at Sealdah Station during one of the most difficult times in his life. From there, he would travel every day to the studio areas in pursuit of opportunities, encountering numerous challenges to gain entry.

In the midst of these difficulties, Sandy started as a backup dancer and eventually made a name for himself in the choreography industry. He choreographed several reality shows, award shows, and movies over the years. Among the well-known movies he has worked on are Chirodini Tumi Je Amar, Kabir, Classroom, and Bolo Dugga Maiki.

He competed in Bigg Boss Bangla in 2016 and made it to the finals, which greatly raised his profile. He decided to devote all his attention to acting starting in 2021. But during that time, he encountered another challenging phase: his income nearly fell to zero while his expenses stayed the same. In spite of this, he set out on a new path and kept going.

Since then, Sandy has made appearances on several television programs and websites, drawing viewers’ attention with his roles in serials like Madhabilata, Alor Thikana, and Roshnai. In addition, he has acted in several web series. He recently played Manish in Raj Chakraborty’s hit series Abar Proloy 2, which has garnered positive reviews from viewers.

In addition, he appeared in the Hindi movie Zorr. Sandy is currently making more appearances on the big screen. One of his next movies is Poroborti Station Begunkodor, in which he will play Mustaq. Debraj, Soham Majumdar, and a number of other actors are also in the movie.
