Focus On IHCL’s Responsible Tourism At Bharat Ek Saath Walkathon

The largest hospitality company in India, Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), is using its ESG+ framework, Paathya, to further its sustainability and social impact agenda.
In its fourth year, IHCL reaffirmed its dedication to responsible tourism with the Bharat Ek Saath Walkathon-Kolkata edition, a 3-kilometer walk that unites employees, their families, local partners, vendors, and the community from more than 200 locations across 14 countries. The Taj Public Service Welfare Trust (TPSWT) benefits from the money raised during the walkathon, supporting IHCL’s social impact strategy.
The walkathon was flagged off by Mr. K. Mohanchandran, Senior Vice President- Operations, IHCL.

The Kolkata edition saw participation from IHCL’s key properties, including: Taj Bengal, Kolkata, Vivanta Kolkata, EM Bypass, Raajkutir, Kolkata- IHCL SeleQtions, Taj City Centre New Town, Kolkata, Taj Taal Kutir, Kolkata, Taj SATS Kolkata, and Taj Ganga Kutir Resort & Spa, Raichak.
A high-energy 30-minute Zumba warm-up followed the pre-event kit distribution, which included vests, caps, water bottles, and snacks. The event included several interesting activities.
Hydration stations and specialized medical and ambulance support were positioned at every kilometer to ensure participant safety and comfort. After a specially prepared breakfast experience by Qmin for all attendees, medals were distributed to wrap up the event. Similar walkathons were held in Sikkim, Kurseong, Jamshedpur, and Puri.
