World Immunization Week is celebrated from 24th to 28th April 2023 and stresses on the importance of cumulative action for protecting people from vaccine-preventable ailments. The aim of this week is to protect adults, children, and even communities from vaccine-preventable diseases.

The theme of World Immunization Week is The Big Catch-Up.

A press conference was organized at Belle Vue Clinic to stress on vaccination awareness. Gracing the occasion was Dr. Partha Sarathi Karmakar, Dr. Rina Ghosh, Dr. Arkaprobha Sarkar, Dr. Satadbi Mitra, Pradip Tondon, and others.

Immunization is a vital component of primary health care. There are a number of vaccines available for treating more than 20 life-threatening ailments. It can be helpful for people of all ages.

To aid in popularizing immunization among adults, Belle Vue Clinic took several steps. the campaign was started by creating awareness among the nursing students of the Priyamvada Birla Institute of Nursing, Rajathat, New Town, Kolkata. They were made aware of the benefits of Hepatitis B vaccination among healthcare workers. This program was attended by more than 300 students on this campus.

 A doctor’s program and a senior citizens awareness program on adult immunization were organized online at Belle Vue Clinic. A doctor’s program was conducted online with national and international faculties.

With this awareness, many diseases can be prevented and a sizeable amount of the population can be saved.
