To honor the frontline COVID soldiers who have been fighting relentlessly during the pandemic, JIS Group planned a walkathon event. Rajkummar Rao, a renowned Bollywood celebrity, attended the event to support the cause and promote his new film Bheed. He was joined by JIS Group students, instructors, and staff members. The event included a health and fitness campaign as well. A felicitation ceremony for the frontline COVID warriors was held after the walk.

Rajkummar Rao, a well-known actor in Bollywood who is best known for his roles in the films Newton, Citylights, and Trapped, joined the Walkathon at the NIT-JISU campus in Agarpara, Kolkata. The event began early in the day, and participants traveled 5 kilometers. A special session to honor the Front Line COVID Warriors, whose tireless effort has set an example to aid our society in continually combatting this pandemic, was held at the conclusion of the Walk for the Cause.

Rajkummar Rao felicitated the warriors and thanked them for their service to the nation.

Shri Alok Rajoria, IPS, Commissionerate of Police, Barrackpore, Shilpa Goswami, nurse, Pallabi Bag, Nurse, Brigadier Vinod Kr. Patra, Eye Specialist Command Hospital, Eastern Command, Prof (Dr) Partha Pratim Pradhan, Principal College of Medicine & Sagore Dutta Hospital, Insp. Rajkumar Sarkar, IC, Khardah, Insp. Ratan Chakraborty, IC, Belgharia, Dr. Writuparna Das, Cardiac Anesthesia, Critical Care and ECMO specialist, Mr. Rup Kumar Basu, Social Worker from NGO, Sai Baba Madhyamgram and Mr. Asim Kumar Nanda, Head Master of Dumdum Shree Aurobindo Vidyamandir were felicitated during the event.

The heartbreaking circumstances that people experienced when returning to their homeland are the focus of the Anubhav Sinha-directed film “Bheed,” which concentrates on these difficult situations.

The cast of the film consists of Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza, Kritika Kamra, Ashutosh Rana, Pankaj Kapur, and many others.

The film draws parallels between the chaotic period that persisted during the 1947 division and the similarly upsetting events that took place during the first Covid-19-induced lockdown.

The film is slated for release on 24th March.
