Radharaman Prabhu, Vice-President of ISKCON Kolkata, Gauranga Prabhu, Member of ISKCON’s Governing Body Commission, Dr. Sumanta Rudra, Dean of Bhaktivedanta Research Center and Dr. Santanu Dey, editor of the Svalikhita Jivani and others graced the book release event of Bhaktivinoda Thakur’s autobiography.

Sri Srimat Kedarnath Dutta Bhaktivinoda Thakur penned down the autobiography in the form of a letter to his son Lalita Prasad in 1896. It was published in the form of a book by his son in 1916, two years after Kedarnath Dutta died. It went out of print after the first publication.

Radharaman Prabhu said that Kedarnath Dutta played a pivotal role as the Restorer of Bengali Vaishnavism and the reintroducer of Shuddha Bhakti or Pure Devotion in the modern period.

He also played an important role in determining the correct location of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s birthplace at Mayapur.

This book will help in generating a renewed interest among Bengali readers in understanding the activities and contributions of this religious personality.

The book has been published as a new edition by Bhaktivedanta Research Center and Dey’s Publishing.
