Great Initiative For 350 Impoverished Kids By Hindusthan Club

To improve the lives of approximately 350 impoverished children from The Refuge between the ages of 5 and 18, Hindusthan Club successfully launched its Club Community Service initiative, Read, Create & Earn, in an amazing fusion of education, sustainability, and grassroots empowerment.
By giving the kids copies of the English newspaper, the program aimed to improve their reading habits and English language proficiency. Participants were encouraged to improve comprehension, communication skills, and current affairs awareness through regular exposure to reliable news content—skills crucial for their academic and personal development.
“At Hindusthan Club, we think that empowering people with information and opportunities is what constitutes true community service. Read, Create & Earn is not just an initiative—it is a step towards building confidence, dignity, and self-reliance among young minds,” said Sri Sanjay Goenka, President of the Hindusthan Club.
The initiative’s unique second phase, in which learning was seamlessly translated into livelihood, was what made it stand out. After reading, the kids made eco-friendly paper handbags out of the newspapers. In addition to encouraging sustainability, these handmade goods taught the young participants the principles of entrepreneurship.
By actively supporting the initiative by buying these bags, members of the Hindusthan Club and the larger community created a sustainable cycle of learning and earning. The children were able to take the first steps toward self-reliance thanks to the program’s successful instillation of confidence, creativity, and financial awareness.
Read, Create, Earn became a potent model of community-driven change by fusing literacy with livelihood and sustainability. The program demonstrated how creative Club Community Service initiatives can go beyond traditional assistance, giving young people opportunities and useful skills that open doors to a future of greater empowerment and independence.
