The Jamatar Mahabhoj at The Kenilworth Hotel is a thoughtfully curated celebration of traditional Bengali cuisine, designed to transport diners on a rich culinary voyage through the heart of Bengal.

Priced at Rs 1899 + GST per person, this fixed-portion thali offers a comprehensive spread that balances diverse flavors, textures, and traditional cooking techniques, ensuring a wholesome and authentic dining experience.

The meal commences with a refreshing Aam Pudinar Sharbat, an invigorating mango and mint cooler that prepares the palate for the feast ahead.

The starter course features a delightful contrast of textures: the crispy, savory Diamond Fish Fry and the subtly sweet, earthy Beetroot Chop.

The main course is a grand affair, divided into vegetarian and non-vegetarian sections, reflecting the depth of Bengali culinary heritage:

Vegetarian Highlights: The spread includes comforting staples like Sada Bhaat (steamed rice) and Basanti Pulao (aromatic yellow rice). These are complemented by a variety of classic vegetable preparations, including Potol Bhaja, Jhuri Aloo Bhaja, Beguni (brinjal fritters), and Bori Diye Saag Bhaja. The meal is further enriched by Shukto—the quintessential bitter-sweet vegetable stew—alongside rich, flavorful dishes like Pur Bhara Doi Potol, Enchorer Kalia (jackfruit curry), and Sonali Moong Dal, served with hot Loochi.

Non-Vegetarian Highlights: For meat and seafood lovers, the menu offers exquisite preparations including the delicate Bhetki Paturi (fish steamed in banana leaves), the rich and creamy Chingri Malaicurry (prawns in coconut milk), the spicy Kanchalanka Murgi (green chili chicken), and the robust Kolkata Kasha Mangsho (slow-cooked mutton curry).

The savory experience is rounded off with traditional condiments—Aamer Chutney (mango chutney) and Bhaja Papad—which provide a palate-cleansing tanginess.

No Bengali meal is complete without Mishtanno (sweets). The finale is a decadent array including Litchur Payesh (lychee-flavored rice pudding), the iconic Aam Rajbhog, and velvety Bhapa Doi (steamed yogurt). A refreshing Cut Fruit Platter featuring litchi, mango, and jamun concludes the meal on a light, seasonal note.

This thali is meticulously designed for one person with fixed portions, ensuring a balanced presentation. To ensure every guest leaves satisfied, the establishment provides complimentary second helpings specifically for Loochi, Rice, and Dal, allowing diners to enjoy the core staples to their heart’s content.
