The promotional song launch of the upcoming Bengali film Lokkhi Chele took place in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.

The film is about a young Muslim doctor Dr. Amir Hussain who stands against the superstitions and social and religious dogmas present in rural society. He is adamant to bring about changes in the lives of the villagers.

The film is directed by Kaushik Ganguly. “The film is releasing after such a long wait. It has been three long years. We have overcome the fear of death and faced a pandemic. The film has been screened abroad and has been well received. Now the film will be released here. Let’s see how the film fares” said the director.

“I have worked with Ujaan for the first time. I wanted to cast him in a film that will do justice to his acting skills. I, Churni, and Ujaan have worked as a complete family in this film. We have worked for highlighting a social issue. Religion is a good thing only if it remains within the confines of religion. But when business is intertwined with it, the problem starts” added the director.

Ujaan Ganguly will be seen as Dr. Amir Hussain. Purab Seal Acharya as Shibnath Dutta, Ritwika Pal as Gayatri Chatterjee, Churni Ganguly as Dr. Mitali, Ambarish Bhattacharya as Joy Mitra, Babul Supriyo, Indrasish Roy, and others will be seen in other important roles.

The music of the film has been composed by Prabuddha Banerjee. There are no songs in the film. The promotional song highlights the vigor of the youth. It has been created by Lakkhichara and sung by Somlata Acharyya Chowdhury.

Lokkhi Chele is produced by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee.

The film will release on 25^th August.
