To honor the vibrant musical heritage of modern Bengali songs that have emerged during Durga Pujo over the past 110 years, Surinder Music has once again unveiled a beautiful track titled Kaash Phooler Gondho. The song features Mekhla Dasgupta, one of today’s most versatile and beloved singers, with lyrics and composition by Sreeraj Mitra, a communications expert, and musical arrangements by veteran music director Rocket Mondal. The song was released by acclaimed film director Mr. Raja Chanda, in front of the artists at Chapter 2.

The bright blue sky of autumn. The nice weather. The delicate, soil-like scent of Kaash Phool. The movement of Kaash Phool. Laal Paar, Shada Saree. White garland decorating the hair bun. The feeling of optimism. The joyful excitement. The air was filled with a festive atmosphere. All of this gives me goosebumps. It marks the beginning of Durga Pujo. It is the time when your loved ones, especially the one you are deeply in love with, come to the city. To mark Durga Pujo. To be near their loved ones. All this captures the very essence of the song Kaash Phooler Gondho.

“We have all grown up hearing Adhunik Bangla Gaan (Modern Bengali Songs), released especially during Durga Pujo, over the years. The melody of Kaash Phooler Gondho is very refreshing and carries a very positive vibe. Working with Sreeraj Mitra Rocket Mondal once again has been wonderful,” said singer Mekhla Dasgupta.

“Bengali basic songs are being released to add music and colour to the festive season. The formats may have changed over the years, but these Pujo songs are still released every year. The Pandals still echo with the sound of these musical numbers. Kaash Phooler Gondho, despite incorporating modern soundscape elements, will take listeners back to the golden era of the 70s and early 80s. It is our musical homage to the time that has passed. It was wonderful to collaborate once again with Mekhla Dasgupta. She sings effortlessly, possessing remarkable tonal quality. We are hopeful that the audience will enjoy the song”, said Lyricist and Music Composer Sreeraj Mitra.

The song, presented by Surinder Singh & Nispal Singh and produced by Surinder Music, will be released by Surinder Music on their YouTube channel and will be available on other digital music platforms.
