At the Dhano Dhanyo Auditorium in Kolkata, Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT), a JIS Group Educational Initiative, held Pravesh Utsav 2026, its First-Year Students’ Orientation Program. This event welcomed the new class of students and marked the start of their academic journey with opportunities for holistic development, inspiration, and exposure.

A distinguished group of figures from the music, film, and education industries graced the program.

The distinguished guests included Jeet, Indian actor, Film Producer and Television Presenter; Mr. Rupankar Bagchi, Playback Singer and Music Composer; Mr. Santanu Moitra, Music Director, Score Composer and Musician, who joined the programme virtually; Sardar Amrik Singh, Deputy Managing Director, JIS Group; Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group; Mr. Bidyut Majumder, Deputy Director, Business Development, JIS Group and Prof. (Dr.) Swarup Kumar Mitra, Principal, Guru Nanak Institute of Technology.

The programme was also graced by Swami Sumanasananda Ji Maharaj, Ramkrishna Mission; Mr. Anupam Dutta, AEKA, Advisor and Partner; Mr. Avik Chakraborty, HR Manager, Cognizant Technology Solutions; Mr. Sanjay Kumar Das, Special Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of West Bengal; Mr. Jaydip Mukherjee, Founder and Managing Consultant, JM Consulting & Advisory Services and Mr. Pawan Kumar, Senior Manager & SCM; SAP Expert.

The interaction between the newly admitted students and the distinguished guests was one of the program’s main highlights. The speakers offered insightful commentary on tenacity, creativity, discipline, passion, and the significance of pursuing one’s goals with commitment and dedication based on their varied professional experiences and journeys. Students had the chance to learn more about lifelong learning, professional success, and personal development as a result of their interactions.

Pravesh Utsav 2026 demonstrated GNIT’s dedication to establishing a learning environment that fosters academic achievement, creativity, and all-around student development. Through the orientation program, students were exposed to an ecosystem that promotes values, curiosity, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility while also encouraging learning outside of the classroom.
