The press conference for the upcoming Bengali film Pakhir Basa took place in the presence of director Somnath Sen, Papiya Adhikari, Moubani Sorcar, Biswajit Chowdhury, Aviraj, Santana Bose, and others.

The tale of Manomoy and Paroma is the story of Pakhir Basa. Manomoy is a widower and retired employee of the private sector. He resides with his daughter-in-law, Jui, and only son, Hriday. His son and daughter-in-law constantly humiliate him, insult him, and neglect him emotionally, even though he is a father who has dedicated his life to his family. Gopal, Manomoy’s adopted son, is the only member of the family who genuinely comprehends and loves him. But Gopal is treated like a servant by Manomoy’s son and daughter-in-law, who are unable to put up with him. As a result, there are ongoing disputes and instability in the family.

Paroma, on the other hand, is a widow with a married daughter and son. They visit her only when they need something for their own interests and seldom ask how she is doing. Mallikdi, Paroma’s domestic helper, is the only person who consistently supports and looks after her. Despite being elegant and well-educated, Paroma leads a very lonely life. Manomoy, a man who, like her, has no life companion, enters this lonely existence. A new chapter in both of their lives begins with the arrival of a new storm. Will Manomoy and Paroma be able to move on from their previous “bird’s nest” and construct a new house together?

The cast of the film consists of Papiya Adhikari, Biswajit Chowdhury, Moubani Sorcar, Kanyakumari, Mousumi Bhattacharya, Bodhisattva Mazumdar, Santana Bose, Dipanjan Bhattacharya Jack, Sharmistha Mukherjee, Aviraj, Deb Mondal, and others.

The lyrics of the film are by Rabindranath Tagore & Somnath Sen.

Sujoy Bhowmik & Dr. Utsav Das have lent their voices to the songs in the film.

The music and background score are by Chandan Roy Chowdhury.

The film has been produced by Chandan Dey.
