In the Covid scenario, the Honorable Supreme Court released a large number of prisoners on parole. The prisoners, who were sentenced to life in prison, have been cooperating with the Rakshak Foundation at the Dum Dum Central Correctional Facility since 2016. It is time for them to return to jail because the situation with Covid has improved.

Rakshak Foundation‘s Mrs. Chaitali Das said: “I learned about their parole and the misery their families endured because of their lack of resources and power. They now have jobs and support thanks to my foundation. Currently, these convicts are appreciated and acknowledged for their skills as artists thanks to many jute training programs at different levels. They have developed into extremely capable and responsible artisans who have been working side by side to fill international orders. They have mastered the technique of producing jute goods that are kind to the environment over time. They deserve praise for the finished woolen jute product of the pilot project’s successful production.”
