Banerjee successfully invoked a serene, refreshing aura that effortlessly transported the audience into the heart of a nostalgic monsoon evening. His stunning mastery of notes and deep ragadari (adherence to the raga’s traditional structure) created a peaceful, deeply meditative ambience.
The performance was elevated by the exceptional chemistry between the vocalist and his accompanists. Debasish Karmakar on the harmonium provided brilliant, seamless melodic support, while Debanjan Mukherjee on the tabla anchored the recital with a flawless, intuitive rhythmic dialogue.
In a poignant segment of the concert, Banerjee paid a soulful tribute to his legendary guru, Pandit Manas Chakraborty. He performed Chakraborty’s beautiful, emotive composition, Naa Naa Chuyona Morey. Banerjee did full justice to the creation, seamlessly weaving the intricate technical nuances of the raga with the profound, deeply expressive lyrical poetry of the song.
