Hoichoi Studios unveiled the cast of The Eken: Kerala-e Kurukshetra in an immersive and theatrical reveal event that combined mystery, culture, and intrigue in a manner befitting Bengal’s most eccentric detective. 

Anirban Chakrabarti will return to his legendary role as Eken Babu in The Eken: Kerala-e Kurukshetra, which is produced by Hoichoi Studios. Suhotra Mukhopadhyay will play Bapi, and Somak Ghosh will play Pramatha. Ritwick Chakraborty, Raima Sen, Kamaleswar Mukherjee, Ambarish Bhattacharya, Arna Mukhopadhyay, and Subrat Dutta join the Eken universe this time, forming an intriguing cast for what looks to be the biggest Eken movie to date.

The event was graced by Anirban Chakrabarti, Ritwick Chakraborty, Raima Sen, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Subrat Dutta, Arna Mukhopadhyay, and director Joydeep Mukherjee.

A unique cast reveal that combined elements of mystery and performance served as the evening’s main event. Inspired by Kerala’s rich classical art forms and cultural legacy, the cast members wore specially designed face masks. One by one, the masks were taken off, revealing the cast and providing the first look at the world of The Eken: Kerala-e Kurukshetra as excitement grew throughout the room.

The film, which is directed by Joydeep Mukherjee and is based on a story by the late Sujan Dasgupta and written by Padmanabha Dasgupta, takes place in Kerala’s lush and breathtaking scenery. Eken Babu will be pulled into a high-stakes investigation unlike anything he has ever experienced in this story, which combines mystery, suspense, action, adventure, and humor.

Director Joydeep Mukherjee said, “I have directed three Eken films and six series. I have always tried to offer something new every time. And this time, the film will offer an amazing experience to the viewers”.

Anirban Chakrabarti said, “Whenever I get the chance to act as Eken Babu, I am very happy. It gives me great joy to portray this role”.

Suhotra Mukhopadhyay said that the love that the fans give is immense. Love of the fans also means an added responsibility for the Eken team. The actor hopes that with the new film, they will be offering something unique to the audience.

Arna Mukhopadhyay revealed that he was a fan of Eken Babu. It also amazed him that so many films and series have been made on a single character.

Raima Sen shared her excitement about joining the series. Her mother, Moonmoon Sen, was also a huge fan of Eken Babu.

The movie’s filming is scheduled to start in August 2026 and will take place throughout Kerala. The Eken: Kerala-e Kurukshetra, which opens in theaters this Durga Puja, promises to take audiences on Eken Babu’s most thrilling and ambitious journey as danger approaches, conspiracies get more intense, and hidden clues emerge.
