Situated in Salt Lake, Kolkata, St. Joan’s Primary School celebrated its Annual Sports Day at GD Park, Salt Lake. It was a peaceful gathering of students, faculty, distinguished visitors, and the press for a day full of competitive sports and exciting cultural events.

The magnificent performance of Swagatham Krishna, which was done by the gifted children of Classes IV & V, astonished everyone at the opening ceremony and set the happy mood for the day’s events.

“This Annual Sports Day is not just about athletic competitions. It is a celebration of our commitment to nurturing holistic development in our students. It’s all about encouraging a passion for athletics and cultural diversity, and we are ecstatic to see our students’ abilities displayed on such a significant stage” said Mrs. Debjani Ghosh, Principal of St. Joan’s Primary School.

The People’s Republic of China’s Consul General in Kolkata, His Excellency Hon’ble Mr. Zha Liyou, said, “I am honored to be part of this celebration. The dedication of St. Joan’s Primary School to cultural diversity is genuinely admirable, and occasions such as this promote mutual understanding and collaboration among nations”.

Hon’ble Mr. Ranjan Poddar (Borough Chairman Br-V) and Hon’ble Mrs. Tulsi Sinha Roy (MMIC, Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation) were present as Guests of Honour.

Also gracing the occasion were eminent personalities like Grand Master Pradipta Kumar Roy, Taekwondo Champion & Coach, Mr. P.A. John Stephen, Acting Principal of La Martiniere for Boys, Kolkata, and Mr. Neville McNamara, Ex-Principal of St. Joseph’s School, Bowbazar.

The event also saw the presence of Reverend Sisters of Lavinia House, Mr. Ravi Lochan Singh, Managing Director of Global Reach, and Mr. Deepak Jalan, Managing Director of Linc Ltd.

More than 400 students enthusiastically took part in a range of sporting events and cultural presentations, demonstrating St. Joan’s steadfast dedication to developing well-rounded people.

The event was a huge success indeed.
