Through its Janmashtami celebrations, SPK Jain Futuristic Academy provided students with a firsthand experience of one of India’s enduring festive traditions, from teamwork and coordination to cultural awareness. In order to create an interactive environment where cultural learning was closely linked with participation and group engagement, the Academy organized a traditional Handi Phodo activity with participation from junior and senior students, as well as a special skit depicting the birth and life of Lord Krishna.

Through experiences that went beyond traditional classroom instruction, the initiative aimed to introduce students to the cultural significance of Janmashtami. The skit gave students a chance to imaginatively depict significant moments in the life of Lord Krishna, bringing Indian folktales to life through acting. The Handi Phodo activity, which brought students of all ages together, further promoted cooperation, coordination, and teamwork while enabling them to take part in a custom connected to the celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth.

A significant component of peer interaction was also added to the celebration by the participation of students from various age groups. Senior students’ participation promoted greater responsibility, coordination, and group participation, while the younger students experienced the customs in an interesting and age-appropriate way. The skit also explored a significant aspect of India’s cultural narrative while giving students a stage on which to express themselves through performance and storytelling.

Such cultural interactions are a part of a larger strategy for experiential and holistic education at SPK Jain Futuristic Academy. In addition to teaching students about the cultural customs and values that have influenced Indian society, traditional celebrations are seen as chances to foster social and interpersonal skills. As a result, the Janmashtami celebration combined culture, creativity, involvement, and hands-on learning, allowing students to celebrate their heritage and gain a deeper understanding of the customs connected to one of India’s most popular holidays.
