The RDB Nahar JITO Day Care Centre inaugurated its Dialysis Centre, a charitable healthcare initiative that will offer life-saving dialysis treatment at a heavily subsidized cost of Rs 200 per session, marking a significant step toward ensuring that everyone has access to high-quality healthcare. The Centre was founded with the goal of providing thalassemia patients with committed support and ensuring that no patient is denied dialysis because of financial limitations.

Members of JITO Kolkata came up with the idea for the project in 2023 when they wanted to develop a healthcare project that would benefit society as a whole.

Under the direction of then-JATF Chairman and Advisor Sri Vinod Dugar, JITO Kolkata Chairman Sri Bhaven Kamdar, and other members, the concept quickly evolved into a cooperative endeavor supported by institutions, philanthropists, and the Jain community.

Visionary philanthropists Sri Sukhraj Ji Nahar and Sri Sunder Lal Dugar, the founder of the RDB Group, generously contributed to the project. Sri Bhikham Chand Ji Pugulia and UCO Bank also made a substantial contribution by providing floors for the building. Inspired by her daughter Manasvi Dugar’s experience with thalassemia, Smt. Sheetal Dugar, Chairperson, JITO Ladies Wing Apex, dedicated an entire floor for thalassemia patients, adding another significant aspect to the project.

The Centre can treat almost 10,000 dialysis patients a year thanks to its 14 dialysis beds, which can accommodate three sessions per bed per day. Additionally, it will enable about 1,000 thalassemia patients to receive blood transfusions annually. In the future, the organization intends to open a Toy Bank to provide children who come to the Centre for dialysis and transfusion procedures with comfort and happiness.

The facility, which was constructed in accordance with all legal fire and health safety requirements, demonstrates a common dedication to providing compassionate, safe, and reasonably priced healthcare. In the upcoming years, Shri Vinod Dugar, President of the Centre, hopes to expand similar centers throughout West Bengal with sustained support from the government and society.

Healthcare professionals, philanthropists, Jain community members, donors, and notable guests attended the launch to commemorate the start of a healthcare initiative that seeks to provide thousands of families in West Bengal with hope and healing.
