In response to the growing prevalence of developmental, neurological, and behavioral disorders in children and to improve access to integrated developmental care for children in Eastern India, Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre, New Town, recently opened a dedicated Child Development Centre (CDC) as part of its paediatric multispecialty expansion.

A multidisciplinary clinical team with specialized knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders, led by Dr. Indrasish Ray Chaudhuri, Consultant, Paediatric Neurology, and Dr. Debapriya Roy, Associate Consultant, Paediatric Neurology, was present when the center was inaugurated.

Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre, a seasoned professional in child healthcare, understood the importance of prompt diagnosis and intervention in enhancing developmental outcomes. The CDC was created as a continuum-of-care model, providing integrated screening, diagnosis, therapy, rehabilitation, and long-term developmental support for children aged 0–18 under one roof, in response to India’s growing prevalence of neurodevelopmental conditions and the lack of access to comprehensive, multidisciplinary care outside of major urban centers.

To provide thorough, coordinated, and child-centered care, the Child Development Centre (CDC) brings together a multidisciplinary team of pediatricians, neurologists, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and special educators. Advanced diagnostics, therapeutic interventions, neurorehabilitation, novel therapies, and family-centered support like counseling, caregiver training, and long-term developmental planning are just a few of the many services it provides. The centre, which offers structured guidance and support to families and caregivers, supports children with developmental and neurological conditions, scholastic challenges, behavioral concerns, and early developmental delays in a safe and sensory-friendly environment.

The Child Development Centre (CDC) aims to become a regional centre of excellence in pediatric developmental care by emphasizing early detection, holistic intervention, and family involvement. This will help neurodiverse children in Eastern India achieve better functional outcomes, raise caregiver awareness, and create more inclusive healthcare pathways.
