In honor of Doctors’ Day, HCG Cancer Centre in Kolkata held an event to honor both physicians and the collaborative spirit that underpins cancer care every day.

In a fun format centered on team games, easy camaraderie, and shared laughter, the celebration brought together physicians, nurses, operations teams, marketing staff, and other staff members. To create a truly free-flowing evening of interaction beyond formal roles and routine hospital responsibilities, four mixed teams from various departments and verticals were formed.

Food Charades, Bollywood Quiz, Buzzer Trivia, Word Building, and Brand Quiz were among the games. Participants enthusiastically threw themselves into the activities. In the Bollywood round, participants mimicked dance moves to assist teammates in identifying popular songs, while in Food Charades, team members had to pretend to eat a specific food item for others to guess its name.

Throughout the evening, the friendly rivalry intensified, with both doctors and staff enthusiastically claiming to have completed the Word Building challenge first, arguing over quiz answers, and politely protesting the Brand Quiz’s difficulty level. Following the thrilling game show, guests danced to both modern and vintage Bollywood songs on the floor.

“Teamwork is the foundation of care in a cancer hospital. Results depend on smooth coordination between departments and specialties in everything from tumor boards to treatment planning to patient support. That same spirit of cooperation was joyfully reflected throughout the evening,” said Dr. Rupali Basu, Regional Business Head, HCG Cancer Centre, Kolkata.

Like all good evenings, the celebration concluded with a lavish dinner spread, conversation, and laughter.
