Hero saves the heroine and then gets married or accidental marriage between the lead pair or marriages due to divine intervention- all these are common in Bengali serials. However, Zee Bangla’s new serial Neem Phuler Modhu is a bit different. It will show an arranged marriage between the lead pair of Parna and Srijan.

The press conference for the new Zee Bangla serial Neem Phuler Modhu took place in the presence of Samrat Ghosh, Chief Cluster Officer-East, Navnita Chakraborty, Business Head, Zee Bangla, lead pair Rubel Das, Pallavi Sharma, Lily Chakraborty, and others.

Parna hails from a nuclear family. She has grown up as a pampered child. However she likes joint families and due to her arranged marriage, she becomes a member of a joint family. Her husband Srijan is a miser and is quite opposite to her in personality. Her grandmother-in-law however likes her as their origin is from the same village. Can she adjust to her new surroundings?

“It is very difficult not only for the woman but also for the man in an arranged marriage. They both have to adjust and compromise to make the marriage work. Added to that are the family and their expectations from the marriage. This new serial will show how a couple adjusts and compromises with one another to make their marriage work” said Samrat Ghosh.

Pallavi Sharma plays the role of Parna. “I am glad that I received such a warm and loving welcome from the Zee Bangla family. This story is one that we all deal with in our daily lives. There is nothing over the top in the characters or in the story. Everyone in the audience will be able to relate to the serial”.

Rubel who has a long working experience with the channel said that it was a great opportunity to play this role. “Srijan is a miser. He is pampered by his mother and patriarchal rules are very common to him. When he is married to a free-spirited girl like Parna, what happens to him? This serial will make for an interesting watch for the audiences” said the actor.

Lily Chakraborty will be seen in the role of Parna’s grandmother-in-law. “I was not willing to do serials for quite some time. But when the channel contacted me and I listened to the story, I wanted to do this serial. The story is so nice and relatable” said the veteran actress.

A marriage ritual of exchanging the garlands was organized at the press meet.

Neem Phuler Modhu will air from 14^th November daily at 8 pm only on Zee Bangla.
