D.S. Research Centre organized a Walkathon for the Cancer Survivors and Cancer Patients in Kolkata on the occasion of World Cancer Day. The walkathon started from D.S Bhawan, Kankurgachi till ESI Hospital Maniktala and back to D.S Bhawan. The Centre launched a special nationwide campaign on the occasion under the theme of “I Am & I Will” highlighting the role of motivation, togetherness and courage in fighting cancer. Dr. Anirban Bhattacharya, D.S.R.C. was present to brief the media.

To support the cause, the day started with a walkathon with the active participation of more than 500 students including Cancer patients, Cancer survivors, Paramedical & Pharma Students, Doctors and D.S.R.C. Staffs, creating awareness about Breast, Cervical, Lung and Stomach Cancer which was followed by a motivational session for the cancer patients and cancer survivors who emerged victorious in their fight against the deadly disease, creating awareness about the role of the different types of treatments at D.S. Research Centre.

The Centre came up with multiple Cancer Awareness campaigns across the length and breadth of India in cities like Kolkata, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Tripura and Varanasi.
