An Amazing Convocation Ceremony Of Techno India University

The Biswa Bangla Convention Centre served as the venue for the yearly Convocation Ceremony of Techno India University in West Bengal. During the ceremony, more than 2000 students received degrees, including undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and gold medallists.

Padma Shri Dr. Sanghamitra Bandyopadhyay, the former director of the Indian Statistical Institute, was the honorable guest at the convocation ceremony and gave the speech. She encouraged the graduating students to pursue greatness in research and innovation while maintaining a strong foundation in ethics and empathy throughout her speech. Her presence gave the event a great deal of intellectual gravity.

Sanjay Jain, Head of Google Education, India, and Jagdisha Bhat, Country Head of IBM, were also present as Guests of Honor. Their presence added valuable perspectives from the cutting edge of technology and industry to the convocation.

A number of distinguished individuals received honorary D.Litt. degrees in appreciation of their exceptional contributions to their areas.

Padma Shri Hariharan for Indian music, Dr. Arunachalam Muruganantham, popularly known as the “Padman,” for his innovative work in sanitation and social entrepreneurship, Padma Vibhushan Dr. Raghunath Anant Mashelkar for his contributions to scientific research and chemical engineering, Padma Bhushan Rajeev Sethi for his groundbreaking work in design and scenography, Padma Shri Shubha Mudgal for Indian classical music, Dr. Sumantra Chattarji for clinical psychology and mental health advocacy, Asma Khan for her work in culinary anthropology and cultural preservation, Dr. Hrishikesh Kumar, a neurologist for his contributions to the medical field, Padma Shri Aparna Sen for her contribution to Indian cinema, and Padma Shri P.C. Sorcar (Jr.) for his legacy in performing arts and illusion were the recipients this year.

Techno India University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Samiran Chattopadhyay stressed that education’s real worth is found in its capacity to benefit society. Only when intellectual development is applied for the larger good, promoting advancement and constructive change for everybody, does it become meaningful.

In addition to honoring academic success, this year’s Convocation gave students a chance to hear from some of the most illustrious figures in a variety of fields and get inspired.
