Sarbani Ganguly’s Book “Album” Depicts Four Great Life Tales

The book launch of Album was graced by author Sarbani Ganguly, Ms. Ekaterina Tyurina (Vice-Consulate), Mr. Maxim Kozlov and Mrs. Natalia Gerasimova (Consulate General), and Ms. Richa Sharma.
With her profound literary sense and poignant narrative, author Sarbani Ganguly, who started her career as a child performer with All India Radio, continues to captivate audiences. Sarbani’s early artistic experiences created the groundwork for her evocative narrative style. She collaborated with luminaries like Partho Ghosh and Gauri Ghosh and provided her voice to radio shows based on the works of Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay and Rabindranath Thakur.
Sarbani, a history student, finds literary inspiration in Ashapurna Devi, whose impact is evident in her subtle depictions of women’s inner landscapes and societal realities. Over the years, her short stories have been published in several periodicals and have been praised for their genuineness and depth.

The four poignant fictional pieces in her most recent book, Album, examine the various facets of womanhood in both traditional and contemporary contexts. Each tale explores the inner conflicts of self-realization, love, and identity while illustrating how a woman’s emotional journey is shaped by her family and memories.
The collection includes Prothom Jiboner Bhalobasha, Album, Thikana, and 1960.
Sarbani Ganguly uses Album to bring to life tales that are both universal and personal, reflecting the resilience, vulnerability, and complex realities of women negotiating love, identity, and time.
