The cast and crew of the eagerly anticipated original action thriller from Bangla ZEE5 stable Taarkata came together to reveal Bheshe Jaai, the series’s signature song.

Bheshe Jai is a lively musical performance that embodies Taarkata’s spirit and emotional pulse. Soumit Deb wrote and composed the song, while Kuntal De produced it and handled the guitar, programming, and arrangements. Koushik Chakraborty and Kuntal De provide the song’s lead vocals. GJ Storm has mastered and mixed the song.

Taarkata, which is directed by Shamik Roy Choudhury, is a compelling mix of mystery, action, dark humor, and psychological intrigue. It chronicles the journey of Agni, a former police officer who returns to his hometown to look into a mysterious death, only to find himself facing a past he had long attempted to put behind him.

The cast of the series consists of Vikram Chatterjee as Agni, Priyanka Sarkar as Chhanda, Meiyang Chang as Dodo, Joydip Mukherjee as Ashok Chowdhury, Satyam Bhattacharya as Bumba Bagchi, Ayush Das as Tintin, and others. 

Taarkata is the first production venture under Vikram Chatterjee Films.

This is Chang’s debut in a Bengali project. “There is always a connection with Kolkata. Food or friends- there is a connection that I have always felt with the city. I started with singing Bengali songs, and now I am working in a Bengali series,” said Chang.

“There are many actors who are also involved in production. But Vikram, you are a genuinely good person who took great care of all of us. You are a great producer. You are also a good co-star to work with. It has been an amazing experience,” said Chang.

Chang also revealed that he got the script in Bengali. He was first shocked after getting the script. “I knew if given the time, I would be able to learn Bengali as well. I learned Telugu for a web series. I can understand Bengali, but I am not able to speak Bengali fluently. Since my character did not need to speak Bengali fluently, that helped a lot,” revealed the singer-actor.

Vikram worked with Satyam Bhattacharya in Tansener Tanpura. “When Satyam’s name was suggested for Bumba Bagchi, I knew somehow that we would have great chemistry onscreen. And Satyam said the same thing. Agni and Bumba’s friendship will stand out in the series and will be a pleasure to watch for one and all,” said Vikram.

Priyanka Sarkar said, “The project is close to my heart, and I had great fun shooting the series. There is something unique about this project. The audience will surely love this. I worked with Vikram at the start of our careers. I respect and admire him for the way he has worked in the past many years. Kudos to him for producing this series”.

Taarkata is scheduled to debut exclusively on Bangla ZEE5 on June 12, 2026, thanks to its captivating plot, gifted ensemble cast, and moving soundtrack.
