Focus On Well-Being On International Yoga Day At Desun Hospital

Desun Hospital reaffirmed its dedication to promoting wellness, preventive healthcare, and healthy aging by hosting a special yoga session for its physicians, nurses, administrative staff, and support staff on International Yoga Day 2026.
Employees from all departments enthusiastically participated in the session, which took place on the hospital grounds. Under the direction of qualified instructors, they practiced yoga poses, breathing exercises, and mindfulness techniques. The program emphasized how crucial it is to integrate mental health and physical exercise into daily life, especially in the hectic and stressful world of today.
The theme of this year’s International Yoga Day, Yoga for Healthy Ageing, highlights how yoga can help people maintain their overall quality of life, mental clarity, emotional equilibrium, and physical fitness as they age. Frequent yoga practice has been demonstrated to enhance mobility, flexibility, strength, posture, cardiovascular health, and stress management—all important aspects of healthy aging.
Desun Hospital, a quaternary care facility accredited by JCI and NABH, blends cutting-edge medical knowledge with a strong emphasis on preventive healthcare. The hospital actively encourages people to adopt healthier habits that can lower the risk of chronic diseases and improve long-term health outcomes through routine health screenings, wellness initiatives, patient education programs, lifestyle counseling, and community outreach activities.
“Yoga is one of India’s greatest contributions to global health and well-being. The theme Yoga for Healthy Ageing serves as a reminder that independence and health do not have to be sacrificed as we age. Yoga can help people stay resilient, active, and healthy for longer through easy, consistent practices. As healthcare professionals, it is our duty to help people avoid illness and live healthier lives in addition to treating illness,” said Mr. Sajal Dutta, Chairman & Managing Director, Desun Hospital.
The celebration of International Yoga Day served as a reminder that making thoughtful daily decisions is the first step toward healthy aging. Desun Hospital continues to support a healthcare model that emphasizes prevention, early intervention, and lifelong well-being by encouraging wellness among its staff and the community. As the event came to an end, attendees made a commitment to incorporate yoga into their daily routines and encourage their communities and families to adopt healthier lifestyles.
