Khukumoni Sindoor-Alta celebrated International Cycle Day by felicitating two cyclists from Bengal namely Chandan Biswas and Nilanjan Saha.

International World Bicycle Day is on 3rd June and this event was organized prior to this day to spread awareness about the benefits of cycling among the masses. Not only is it an eco-friendly way of transportation, but it also aids in keeping one healthy and fit.

Chandan Biswas completed the Trans-Himalayan expedition on his bicycle. “When I saw foreign tourists ride on cycles for touring our country, I thought why not I set out for an expedition on a cycle. At first, I used to travel with groups and it was in 2015-16, that I started out on my own” said Chandan.

A documentary titled Charaiveti directed by Chandan Biswas and Bauddhayan Mukherji was also screened at the recently concluded 27th Kolkata International Film Festival. The 72 minutes documentary shows the expedition of Chandan.

However, I wanted to develop this place for new artists who wanted to perform for an audience”.
