In a lavish event, the title of Excellent Pictures’ upcoming Bengali film Dabba Kaka was revealed. Additionally, the occasion served as a backdrop for the films Look Set and Shuvo Mahurat.

Rishav Basu, Aishwarya Sen, Sohini Guha Roy, Anindya Sengupta, Vinita Chatterjee, Subhankar Ghatak, and many other notable faces make up the ensemble cast of Dabba Kaka, which is directed by Dipankar Ghosh and produced by Hassanuzaman Jimmy. There will also be an intriguing cameo from well-known actor Aryann Bhowmik. Due to prior obligations, veteran actor Pradip Bhattacharya, who plays a crucial role in the film, was unable to attend the event.

“I am very excited about this role of Dabba Kaka. I can tell you that this character has never been seen in the Bengali film industry, even though I am unable to disclose much about them at this time. I am fortunate that directors continue to trust me to portray a range of characters. The title role of Dabba Kaka will come with a lot of responsibility. Additionally, this film is about India reaching a significant milestone in its medical history and is based on a real-life health emergency. This further enhances the uniqueness of the film,” said Rishav Basu.

Aishwarya Sen said, “I play the role of a village girl in Dabba Kaka. This character will be entirely different, even though the audience is more accustomed to seeing me as an urban bubbly character. Being paired with Rishav makes me very happy. In the past, we have collaborated on numerous projects. This has also made my mom very happy. Rishav and I always look great together on screen. I’m excited to have a great time filming”.

“I have a very special appearance in Dabba Kaka. For the time being, I want to keep it a secret. However, I have a feeling that this unique appearance will be highly memorable. In the unit, I have a few very close friends. Additionally, I collaborated on a music video with director Dipankar Ghosh. Therefore, declining this offer was not an option. In addition, I’m thrilled to be a part of a film about reaching an important milestone in Indian medical history,” said Aryann Bhowmik.

“The movie has a wonderful concept. Being a part of this film makes me happy. There are some similarities between my character Priyadarshini and myself, but there are also some differences. This character experiences a great deal of personal turmoil. The film’s climax will reveal the intricacy of Priyadarshini’s relationships. Additionally, this film commemorates the accomplishment of a significant turning point in Indian medical history,” said Sohini Guha Roy.

“Dabba Kaka is based on an amazing true story, and I am happy to be a part of this. Compared to the characters I have played thus far, my character Probal is very different. He will be perceived as a tough villager who fiercely defends his fellow residents. My character has many facets and is crucial to the film’s resolution. I adore how I was portrayed in this film. I am now anticipating the shooting, which I know will be enjoyable,” said Anindya Sengupta.

Speaking about her role, Vinita Chatterjee said, “I am returning to the big screen after a break. Up until now, the audience has seen me in a very urban avatar. They will be astounded to see me looking completely different now. In the film, my character Uma plays a crucial role in reaching the climax”.

“Dabba Kaka is a very unique concept that came from none other than my better half, Sharmistha. Dabba Kaka tells the grassroots tale of how India achieved a historic medical milestone against the backdrop of a health emergency. I had been working on this idea for a while, and when Excellent Pictures finally agreed to invest in the film, we got right to work. We’ve put together a beautiful cast. Additionally, I am grateful to Hassanuzaman Jimmy, our producer, for his unwavering support,” said director Dipankar Ghosh.

Dabba Kaka’s filming will soon begin, and it will be released later this year.
