The First Edition Of The Glamour & Spices In Kolkata

With the first edition of Glamour & Spices, the Kolkata Women’s Business Alliance (KWBA) brought together women entrepreneurs, homemakers, professionals, and creators under one roof to celebrate motherhood, talent, and unity. It was a touching Mother‘s Day celebration.
For the organization, which was established with the goals of women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, and unity, the occasion signaled an important new chapter.
The occasion was graced by Soma Chakraborty, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Goodace Hospital, President of Gouri’s Foundation, and Founder Member of KWBA; Piyali Goswami, Founder Member and Cultural Secretary of KWBA; Swati Das Chakraborty, Owner of Misthi Bahar and Founder Member of KWBA; Moumita Mukherjee, Owner of Sristi Boutique and Founder Member of KWBA; and Sunanda Banerjee, Director of Mission Hospital Durgapur and Founder Member of KWBA.
The esteemed juries for the various segments included Cooking Judge Bipasha Mukherjee, Celebrity Culinary Expert; and Fashion Show Judges Shantanu Guha Thakurta, Renowned Fashion Designer; Abhishek De Sarkar, Eminent Career Coach; Abhishek Ray, Renowned Fashion Designer & Professor, Co-partner, TiaPaakhi; and Anilabha Chattopadhyay, Editor, Hangla Hneshel.
The carefully planned Sunrise presents “Mayer Haater Ranna” segment, a distinctive culinary showcase honoring the love, warmth, and emotions associated with food prepared by mothers, was one of the evening’s main highlights. The competition was a truly inclusive celebration of culinary talent and family traditions, with participation from enthusiastic male cooks as well as women from a variety of backgrounds. The Kolkata Women’s Business Alliance organized a lively multi-generational fashion showcase with a unique fusion Indo-western collection as part of the celebration.
The segment, which featured participants ranging in age from two to sixty, brilliantly embodied self-assurance, inclusivity, and the conviction that “Je Raandhe, Shey Chul-o Baandhe”—a celebration of women who skillfully combine talent, grace, ambition, and responsibility. The evening was made glamorous and elegant by fashion presentations by Sristi Boutique, MR Creation, Appie Blossom, and KolkataNama, which were well received by both the audience and the guests.
The founding members of KWBA, Soma Chakraborty, Piyali Goswami, Swati Das Chakraborty, Moumita Mukherjee, and Sunanda Banerjee, led the event and emphasized the value of networking, teamwork, and developing significant platforms for women to develop and support one another.
KWBA wants to develop into a powerful, community-driven platform where women can interact, empower themselves, show off their skills, and turn their aspirations into prosperity and success. There will be many more and larger celebrations in the future, and this was just the first one.
