“Bengal Is Free & All Films Can Release Now”- Mithun Chakraborty

The press conference for the upcoming Bollywood film Aakhri Sawal took place in Kolkata.
It was graced by Mithun Chakraborty, Locket Chatterjee, Director Abhijeet Mohan Warang, Sameera Reddy, Tridha Choudhury, and Namashi Chakraborty.

The story revolves around Vicky, a gifted but unpredictable student who publicly accuses Professor Gopal Nadkarni, his mentor, of institutional bias. Their scholarly disagreement quickly turns into a contentious national debate.
Mithun Chakraborty thanked the film’s cast and crew for helping his son, Namashi, during the shoot. He also added that films of this kind must be made more to help the public know about the happenings around them.
Sameera Reddy said, “I am excited to see Mithun da after twenty years. The most impressive thing about the script was that the director was not preaching through the film. He was just stating facts. He wanted my character, Dr. Pallavi Menon, to be explosive, agitating, and creating havoc. And it was fun to portray such a role”.

Namashi said, “The trailer release was not allowed in August 2025. And now we have come to a new Bengal where freedom is allowed. The script was amazing. The director and producer are brilliant. I am proud to have done a film like Aakhri Sawal”.
Tridha Choudhury played the role of Sara, a college student. “Institutions are the place where leaders of tomorrow are made. We all have our ideologies. And there is so much we can do for our country. Filmmaking gives one the power to do something for the country. Watch our film, and you will understand that we are not trying to divide anyone”.
Mithun Chakraborty spoke about the ban on his last film, The Bengal Files, in Bengal. “Why does an event that happened before Independence have to be seen as something political? Why give it a religious tone? Why can’t one see the truth behind the film? This oiling factor has been prevailing for too long in Bengal. However, the person behind this has finally slipped from her position of power. And now the film will finally be released in Bengal”.
The film releases on the 15th of May.
