Interactive Session On Healthy Eating For Young Adults Preparing To Go Overseas

OCTA-Park-Street

An interactive workshop on Healthy Eating, Diet, and Easy Recipes for young adults preparing to go overseas for their academics was organized recently at OCTA, Park Street.

The session was conducted by nutritionist Mayanka Singhal who was in conversation with Payal Chitlangia, academic consultant and admissions coach.

Nutritionist Mayanka Singhal highlighted important aspects like:

  • Cereals, proteins, and vegetables must be consumed in high quantities. Sugars and fats must be consumed less.
  • One must stay away from processed foods and foods containing preservatives as they are not good for the health.
  • Starting a diet suddenly to lose weight is not a good idea. This can lead to hormonal problems in young adults.
  • Indian foods have to be prepared in oils with high smoke points. Students abroad must avoid olive oil as it has low smoke points and instead opts for other oils that have high smoke points.

Chef Ritabrata Biswas prepared healthy recipes live for the assembled students and mothers and also answered queries regarding the preparation.

An enlightening session indeed!!
